Construction of a New Courthouse, and Federal Office Building, Dayton, Ohio
The proposed action consists of construction of a new Courthouse and Federal Office Building in Dayton, Ohio, by the General Services Administration. The facility will have a gross area of approximately 162,000 square feet in nine stories, and a basement. The Government-owned site for the proposed building is located in the Downtown Business District, Urban Renewal Area, on the square block bounded by West Second Street, North Wilkinson Street, West Third Street, and North Perry Street. The new facility will improve agency housing, increase the effectiveness of agency operations, provide greater convenience and access to the public and permit the release of privately-owned leased space. The long-term benefits of constructing the new facility are expected to offset any minor adverse environmental impacts during the construction period or maintenance of the facility.
