Cement-Lime Mortars
Many important properties of masonry, particularly strength and weather resistance, are affected to a considerable degree by the type of mortar used. One type, generally known as cement-lime mortar, is used extensively in North America and Europe for all types of unit masonry construction. This paper reviews the development of this type of mortar and discusses the influence of certain of its properties on the strength, durability, and weather resistance of unit masonry. (Author)
