The work concerns concrete structures automatic design. General criteria for design and pre-dimensioning of concrete building structures are briefly analyzed. An interactive system for automatic design of concrete plane frames is developed. The system is based on a structural analysis package allowing internal forces redistribution and on another package concerning of ordinary reinforcement automatic evaluation. The internal forces redistribution technique here developed, is an approach to answer practical needs in design. The formulation for longitudinal reinforcement evaluation, allows any cross section geometry and reinforcement distribution within it. Some practical examples are presented.
