Criteria for Evaluating the Potential for Impoundment Leaks into Underground Mines (Existing and Proposed Impoundments)
The objective of this paper is to provide the Regulatory Authorities (RAs) with criteria for evaluating impoundments to prevent unplanned and unpermitted discharges into underground mines. Such events have the potential to harm underground miners, and may also result in discharges from the underground mines to the surface. Discharges to the surface may harm people and adversely affect property and the environment.
