Studies of Fire and Smoke Behaviour Relevant to Tunnels
Experimental and theoretical work relating to the tunnel fire situation is discussed. This includes general studies of burning, flame height, and influence of ceilings on flames, air entrained into flames and rising plumes, the smoke production of fires and the movement of smoke in tunnels and corridors. The possibilities of limiting smoke spread by controlling ventilation are also discussed. (Copyright (c) British Crown Copyright.)
