Wind Loads on Sheeted Scaffolds: A Field Study
The study deals with wind loads on sheeted scaffolds. Two scaffolds sheeted with plastic fabric have been studied in the field. Wind velocity and wind load were measured. In order to correspond to the Swedish Building Code, the results are expressed as a set of 'form factors' acting at the various parts of the scaffold facade. The resulting design wind loads at the various parts of a sheeted scaffold are suggested, with some modifications, as being obtainable through the product of the actual form factor and the design wind speed pressure which should be used for an ordinary type of building situated at the same place and with the same height as the sheet scaffold.
