This report describes the activities of the North Dakota Water Resources Research Institute (ND WRRI) during the period March 2001 to February 2002.The ND WRRI is one of 54 entities known collectively as the National Institutes for Water Resources. The Institutes were established by Congress (Water Resources Research Acts of 1964,1972, 1984 and 1990) at the Land Grant University in each state, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Guam/Federated States of Micronesia, and are administered by the United States Geological Survey.The bulk of the ND Institutes resources are allocated to the research and education functions through the mechanism of Graduate Research Fellowships.
