Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Cold Water Pipe At-Sea Test Program
A detailed design for a 10-foot diameter, 1,000-foot long fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) cold water pipe (CWP) was tested at-sea aboard a platform. The wall of the pipe was of sandwich construction with FRP facesheets and a core of syntactic foam. In addition to developing the design for the pipe itself, other activities were conducted to support the design effort.
