Design and Construction Techniques for SIFCON (Slurry Infiltrated Fiber Concrete)
This report documents the first part of a three-part program to develop information and techniques necessary to consider SIFCON (Slurry Infiltrated Fiber Concrete) as a conventional building material. The report presents a discussion of preliminary design methods for flexure members followed by a summary of techniques for fabricating conventional-sized SIFCON structures. A section is included on the determination of material and fabrication costs for SIFCON.
