New Species of Mosquitoes from Taiwan (Diptera: Culicidae). Part I. Two New Species of AEDES (Finlaya)
This report deals with the description of two new species of mosquitoes belonging to subgenus Finlaya of genus Aedes. These mosquitoes were found as larvae in tree-holes on an elevation of 2,400 meters in Central Taiwan. One of them is named Aedes (Finlaya) crossi, n. sp. which is closely related to Aedes suffusus and Aedes oreophilus. The other is named Aedes (Finlaya) hurlbuti, n. sp. which is closely related to Aedes auronitens. (Author)
