Strength, Safety and Economical Dimensions of Structures
In designing a building (building component), it is necessary to take into account the scatter (uncertainty) in the values of the quantities which determine the serviceability of the structure. The report examines the question of how variations in the loads on, and the dimensions of, a building component and the strength of the constituent building materials affect the serviceability of the building or building component.
