Radon Reduction in the Design and Construction of New Schools and Other Large Buildings
The paper discusses radon reduction in the design and construction of new schools and other large buildings, an area of major emphasis in the U.S. EPA's radon mitigation research and development program in recent years, in which radon levels are as low in the buildings as in the air surrounding them. Such ambient levels can now be attained cost effectively in new schools using a properly designed active soil depressurization (ASD) system.
