City of Eugene Residential Preferential Parking/Commuter On-Street Permit Parking Demonstration Program
The purpose of the project is to implement a parking pricing demonstration program in the West University (WU) area of the city of Eugene, Oregon, that would reduce long-term commuter on-street parking and incoming traffic, and create more convenient parking for shoppers and residents. Elements of the program include Residential Preferential Parking (RPP) Zones, sale of commuter on-street parking permits, and installation of multi-space computerized parking meters. The report focuses on the basic RPP tasks, namely--planning, implementation, operations, and key elements for maintaining a stable administrative course. The program has also produced a report on multi-space computerized parking meters, which together with this and the evaluation report provide a complete account of the WU Parking Pricing Demonstration Program.
