Highway Noise: A Field Evaluation of Traffice Noise Reduction Measures
The report is the third in a series of highway noise studies and describes evaluation by field studies of the effectiveness of different noise-reducing measures. The parameters studied included the acoustic characteristics of noise-reducing measures, traffic volumes, speeds, truck/auto mix, and prevailing environmental conditions of a terrain and meteorological nature. The report contains recommendations for additional research into highway noise problems and presents detailed appendices incorporating the modified procedure recommended to be employed in design evaluation.
