Projects I-10-1(35) and F-346(9), Mobile and Baldwin Counties, Alabama
The application proposes Project I-10-1(35), Mobile and Baldwin Counties, beginning at the east end of Project I-10-1(34), the interchange project at the east end of the I-10 Tunnel under Mobile River and extending easterly and southeasterly across the upper reaches of Mobile Bay, length approximately 7.0 miles. Also Project F-346(9), Baldwin County, beginning at the east end of the Tensaw River Bridge on U.S. 31 and U.S. 90 and extending southeasterly, connecting with the Project I-10-1(35) Interchange on Battleship Parkway, length approximately 1.0 mile. The environmental impacts discussed in the statement are: Relocating people and businesses, the area through which the project traverses, the use of a bridge section on Project I-10-1(35) instead of a conventional roadway section, esthetics, wildlife, air and water pollution, noise, safety, improved traffic conditions and economic effects therefrom, an apparent Section 4(f) land involvement in Meaher Park and potential pollution if a construction channel is dredged as an aid in construction of the bridge section.
