A Comprehensive Long-Range Development Plan, McDonough County, Illinois
The purpose of this report is to analyze the various existing conditions in McDonough County, Illinois, and present plan proposals, administrative recommendations and capital improvement proposals. The proposals include both a 20-year capital improvement program and a six-year capital improvement budget. Because the movement in the county is from rural to urban, the agrarian base of the economy will change. The new economic foundation will lie in the county's potential as part of a major recreational area and the development of the supplementary freeway systems, the expansion of Western Illinois University, and the urbanization of the city of Macomb, the county seat.
