Vibration Testing of an Epoxy-Repaired Four-Story Reinforced Concrete Structure
A full-scale, 4-story reinforced concrete structure, deliberately damaged by forced vibration, was repaired by the epoxy-injection method and again deliberately damaged by forced vibration. At low-amplitude motions, the epoxy-repaired structure was slightly less stiff than the original, undamaged structure. However, at large deflections associated with severe damage, the epoxy-repaired structure was stiffer than the original structure. On the basis of these and other results, the epoxy-injection technique is considered to be an adequate method for repairing an earthquake-damaged structure. (ERA citation 08:026989)
