Indicators of the Quality of U.S. Housing
As part of the Integrated Analysis of the Experimental Housing Allowance Program, this paper attempts to deal with the difficult problem of measuring housing quality. The numerous housing characteristics in the 1973 Annual Housing Survey are reviewed, and a list of meaningful housing quality indicators is developed. The indicators are then used to describe occupied housing in the United States.
