The Travel Patterns of Persons Residing in High Density Urban Areas
The purpose of the study was to determine the travel patterns of persons residing in high density urban areas. The study area was the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, New York. The results were obtained through a questionnaire survey made in four major apartment complexes in the area. Travel patterns were correlated to household characteristics through regression analysis, and the resultant equations might be useful in predicting those travel patterns in similar situations. In addition, existing regression equations were applied to the data obtained, and the actual and predicted results were compared.
