Reconstruction of the Interchange of the Major Deegan Expressway I-87 with Macombs Dam Bridge Approach in the Borough of the Bronx, New York City, N.Y
The statement is an administrative action describing a reconstruction of the existing interchange, between Major Deegan Expressway, I-87, and Macombs Dam Bridge approach. One or two of the existing ramps will be relocated, depending on the alternate selected. Length of project is .9 miles in the borough of the Bronx, New York City, N.Y. The project will have a beneficial effect on the community by relieving traffic congestion in the interchange. Traffic will be expedited to the major generators in the area - Yankee Stadium, Bronx Terminal Market, Bronx Boro Hall and Civic Center. As this project is strictly a ramp relocation which will not add any traffic to the area beyond that which will occur whether the project is constructed or not, air, noise, and water pollution will not be significantly affected.
