Large scale design studies have been carried out of passive solar heating systems for residential buildings in the United Kingdom under the aegis of the Energy Technology Support Unit (ETSU) of the Department of Trade and Industry. A common methodology by each contractor has been adopted for all the house designs as a result of initial performance assessments of projects for Northern England and Scotland. This document covers reports on the schemes for sheltered housing developments and refurbishment studies. (UK)
