Effects of Rigid Inclusions on Wave Propagation
The effect of rigid inclusions on the characteristics (amplitude and time of arrival) of shear and P-waves is investigated using a finite element model to discretize the region of interest and an explicit integration scheme. The effect of boundary conditions, type of excitation (point load versus distributed load) and wave length (or frequency of the excitation) are investigated and discussed. (Author)
