The former site workers and children who played on the site before the fence was constructed were possibly exposed to benzene and carbon tetrachloride in the ambient air through inhalation. Additionally, former site workers, children who played on the site and nearby residents were possibly exposed to arsenic, lead, vanadium and PCBs through ingestion and skin contact from soils on and off the site. Other potential exposure pathways include contact with soils in residential yards, sediments from the adjacent stream, garden vegetables grown and wildgame caught near the site, fish from the streams and creeks downstream of the site, and private water wells in the vicinity of the site.
