Resistance to Cracking of Rubberized Asphalt: Full-Scale Experiment on Trunk Road A6 in Leicestershire
The results of a full-scale experiment on Trunk Road A6 at Lockington in Leicestershire have shown after 5 years that rubberized rolled asphalt laid over concrete joints was considerably more resistant to reflection cracking than normal rolled asphalt. Additional treatments such as placing steel-mesh reinforcement in the surfacing or covering the joint with aluminium foil did not contribute to the resistance to cracking of the normal asphalt.
