Annual Housing Survey: 1981. Housing Characteristics for Selected Metropolitan Areas: Detroit, Michigan, Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area
This report presents statistics on housing and household characteristics from the 1981 Annual Housing Survey conducted in the standard metropolitan statistical area encompassing Detroit, Mich. Tables on general housing characteristics present selected housing characteristics for 1981, 1977, 1974, and 1970 for both the general population and black and Hispanic householders; characteristics of new construction units; characteristics of housing units removed from the housing inventory; and characteristics of vacant-year-round housing units. Statistics on indicators of housing and neighborhood quality present characteristics for owner-occupied and renter-occupied housing units for the general population, black householders, and Hispanic householders. Tabular data on financial characteristics present characteristics of owner-occupied and renter-occupied housing units by income of the family or primary individual; characteristics for owner-occupied, one-unit structures by value of property; and characteristics of renter-occupied housing units by gross rent. Data are also given on recent mover households and for cross-tabulations of the indicators of housing and neighborhood quality by income, value, and gross rent.
