The report is devoted to a characterization of housing in Wisconsin as revealed by the l970 census of population and housing. It summarizes the results of the housing census in terms of numbers of housing units, occupancy and vacancy rates and housing densities. It then discusses the characteristics of housing such as relationship of units to rooms, mobile homes, kitchen facilities, plumbing facilities, and telephone availability. It also discusses the cost of housing in the State in terms of contract rent and value. The report also reviews some of the characteristics of the occupants of housing in Wisconsin and analyzes the implications of census results and housing phenomena on the State. (Author)
