The land use element of the comprehensive planning program sets forth the allocation and arrangement of land uses projected to the year 1990. The existing and projected population and economic characteristics of the Pineville planning area are analyzed to provide an adequate basis for projected land use allocations. Influencing factors in the preparation of this land use plan are the Cumberland River and the mountainous terrain in close proximity to the city of Pineville. (Author)
