The proposed action would provide a Federal Mine Health and Safety Academy to properly train personnel in mine health Health and Safety as mine inspectors. The facility is to be situated 10 miles from the center of downtown Beckley, West Virginia. No significant impact on the air, land, water, or other resources of the area is expected from the operation of the Academy. There may be a temporary effect on the overcrowding of local schools from the new faculty's families. (Author)
