Water Fillable Polymers - Ablative Material for Fire Resistance
The report presents the results and conclusions of investigations into the nature and fire resistance applications of water fillable polymers. The potential of water fillable polymers, hereafter called W.F.P., as a fire barrier material is demonstrated by the results of fire tests conducted on small wall panels. These results are presented. An explanation, based on fire test data and scanning electron micrographs, of how W.F.P. works as a fire barrier material is also given along with results of flame spread tests conducted with a small flame spread tunnel.
