The project consists of freeway construction in Mercer, Warren, and McDonough Counties, Illinois, for the purpose of traffic improvement in the Mississippi River corridor. Beneficial effects expected are better access to recreational areas and stimulation of economic activity. An unavoidable permanent effect would be the removal of farmland from production.
