Project No. SAP-1-500, Construction of Bridge Across Lake Oahe and Connecting Roadways Between Fort Yates and Linton, North Dakota
The proposed project consists of constructing a bridge across Lake Oahe approximately midway between Bismarck, North Dakota, and Mobridge, South Dakota. The improvement would include construction of a two lane hard surfaced roadway connecting the proposed bridge with U.S. Highway No. 83 to the east and State Highway No. 24 to the west. The project is located in Sioux and Emmons County in the State of North Dakota. The adverse effects which cannot be avoided include the taking of agricultural land for the construction of the highway. The placing of fill in Lake Oahe for the causeway will cause temporary pollution of the water in the immediate vicinity of the crossing.
