The Economic Benefits Accruing from the Scenic Enhancement of Highways
The report evaluates some aspects of the benefits and costs of the scientific enhancement provisions of the Highway beautification Act of 1965. The dependent variables analyzed in the study are highway accidents and the number of motorists who drive for pleasure. Multiply regression techniques were utilized to determine the relationship between accident rates and the degree to which a highway is scenic. (Author)
