Dynamically Loaded Circular Composite Slabs Phase II: Project Hercules
Seven circular composite slabs were tested simultaneously in a test facility designed to simulate the air pressure and airblast-induced ground motions of a nuclear blast. The slabs were designed to give information about the load-carrying capacity of a possible missile launch facility closure concept based on a thick concrete slab confined by a steel ring at the periphery and a steel plate on the bottom.
