Project APD-200(25), Appalachian Corridor 'Q', US 460, WVA 71, Mercer County 25 Intersection to Interstate 77, Princeton, West Virginia. Mercer Co
It is proposed to build a four-lane divided highway beginning west of the WVA 71 - US 460 intersection and extending easterly 4.8 miles to Interstate 77. The highway will be part of the Appalachian System, connect with I-77 and will service traffic destined for Princeton and Bluefield and points westward. The impact is not considered to constitute a significant overall adverse effect upon the environment. It will provide a good facility for an area deficient in adequate roads. The project will affect the wildlife and fish in the area but these effects are not expected to be significantly adverse. The number of houses required to be taken for the highway is significant, but replacement housing is available.
