Analysis of Overhead Cable-Supported Roadway Sign
A design for a cable-supported overhead roadway sign is examined for its susceptibility to wind loadings. The numerical part of the analysis is made principally by an application of the STRUDL computer program. The design is found generally adequate from a strength standpoint, but the presence of wind-induced vibratory possibilities suggests certain modifications to improve the overall system. A discussion of these is given. Portions of this document are not fully legible.
