Portland Cement Concrete Pavement Restoration. Construction Report
Techniques and procedures have been developed to prolong the life of Portland cement concrete pavements which are structurally sound but have relatively small areas of deterioration and limited problems at joints and cracks. Several of these techniques and procedures were demonstrated and discussed at a seminar on May 9, 1984, on a concrete pavement section of US 322 (L.R. 139 Parallel) near Hershey, PA. These techniques included: (1) Full-depth slab replacement; (2) Spall repair; (3) Subsealing; (4) Diamond grinding; (5) Joint rehabilitation/resealing; (6) Restoration of load transfer at cracks. Details of the application of these techniques and procedures at the demonstration are discussed in the report.
