National Nursing Home Survey Followup: Wave 2, 1988
Wave II of the National Nursing Home Survey follow-up (NNHSF) is the second wave of a longitudinal study which follows the cohort of current residents and discharged residents sampled from the 1985 NNHS. It began in July 1988, approximately 12 months after the completion of Wave I. The primary purpose of the study is to provide data on the flow of persons in and out of long-term care facilities and hospitals. Based on the results of Wave I, 4,000 subjects were eligible for Wave II interviewing. If the subject could not participate, interviews with proxy respondents (primary next-of-kin) were conducted. For those subjects in facilities, administrators or other facility personnel were interviewed.
