U.S. Highway 87 (Designated IH 27) from Approximately 0.20 Miles Northeast of Hale Center, In Hale County, to Swisher-Randall County Line at the East City Limits of Happy, in Swisher County, Texas
The proposed project is located in the State of Texas, Hale and Swisher Counties; beginning at a point 0.2 mile northeast of the north city limits of Hale Center in Hale County and ending at the Swisher-Randall County Line at Happy, Swisher County. Project length is approximately 52 miles with approximately 19 miles on new location. Plainview, Kress, Tulia and Happy are located along this route. Highway improvements proposed are: construction of a controlled access multi-lane divided roadway including frontage roads (on sections), interchanges, grade separations and safety rest areas. A summary of beneficial and adverse environmental effects is given.
