Feasibility of Determination of Low-Head Hydroelectric Power Development at Existing Sites. Dan River Hydroelectric Development. Feasibility Report
The results of a study to determine the feasibility of redeveloping the hydroelectric power potential of the Dan River in Danville, Virginia, are reported. Redeveloping the power potential would involve refurbishing and/or rehabilitating the existing power plant at the Schoolfield Dam and building a new power facility at the Union Street Dam downstream of the Schoolfield Dam. The technical, economic, environmental, and safety aspects were evaluated and indicate that, for the present, this development is not economically feasible. (ERA citation 05:006698)
