Archeological Survey at Ferry Hill, C and O Canal, National Historical Park
An intensive archeological survey was conducted at Ferry Hill and provided the following information: (1) Building debris, marking the general locations of two structures, was noted; and (2) The garden area was identified. Ferry Hill has been developed and adapted to various purposes through the years, and a short summary of its history is included in the report. Archeological clearance for National Park Service development is given with the stipulation that the two building sites will not be disturbed. Monitoring of future construction and site development by an archeologist is recommended.
