Archeological Investigations at Zion National Park
In September, 1984, a seven to eight person archeological crew inventoried portions of Zion National Park. They documented the archeological sites in Zion Canyon, Parunuweap Canyon and the trails going through the Kolob area. In all, 69 archeological sites were examined, 37 of them were documented for the first time. The sites ranged from the Basketmaker period to the Historic period; from rock art panels to habitation sites which included rooms, granaries and cists.
