The proposed plan of improvement provides for beach replenishment and construction of a submerged offshore breakwater to protect the replenished beach. The sand placement will result in a widened, restored beach. The breakwater will reduce wave energy and lessen the erosion, providing a safer swimming area. There will be some disruption of waves suitable for surfing, and the obstruction of fish movement from offshore into the inner portions of the embayment. The submerged breakwater will add a new visual element to the offshore waters.
