TECHNIQUES - Surgical Techniques for the Repair of Anterior Mitral Leaflet Prolapse - Myxomatous disease is the most frequent cause of mitral surgery. While lesions of the posterior leaflet are frequently repaired, anterior leaflet lesions are often considered beyond repair. The different surgical maneuvers for the repair of anterior leaflet prolapse are described. It is the authors contention that most myxomatous lesions can be safely repaired.
