Landsat TM-Based Forest Area Estimation Using Iterative Guided Spectral Class Rejection - Forest area estimates from two Landsat TM-based classifications, MRLC and a new hybrid technique called Iterative Guided Spectral Class Rejection, are compared with the USDA Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis forest area estimates obtained using the traditional aerial-photography-based method.
