Bond of Reinforcement in Ultra-High-Performance Concrete
Featuring high compressive strength, high tensile strength, and high durability, ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) has been developed considerably during the last 10 years.25 The bond strength between steel reinforcement and UHPC is also better than that in ordinary concrete,26 and this may have many challenging applications in concrete construction. Factors affecting anchorage bond strength in the UHPC were investigated and reported. The work and results are interesting to the discussers, and worthy of further discussion. Design recommendation is given that in a case where bar spacing and minimum side cover are within the satisfied specified configurations, the minimum embedded length is 8db, for a bar yield strength of 75 ksi (517 MPa) and the minimum UHPC compressive strength of 13.5 ksi (93 MPa).
