Winners of the 2016 ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards
This year, Palazzo Italia received the highest honor in the ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards program. The project, located in Milan, Italy, was submitted by the Italy Chapter -- ACI. Eleven additional global projects were recognized Oct 24, 2016, during the Gala event at The ACI Concrete Convention and Exposition, in Philadelphia, PA. The awards were created to honor the visions of the most creative projects in the concrete industry, while providing a platform to recognize concrete innovation, technology, and excellence across the globe. Guests at the Gala event heard ACI President Michael J. Schneider recognize the role that chapters play in ACI's Strategic Plan. The projects awarded are: Museo Internacional del Barroco, Puebla, Mexico; 2. The Strand, American Conservatory Theater; 3. Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport; 4. Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU's Children's Pavilion; and 5. McCord Hall at ASU W.P. Carey School of Business.
