Burglary resistance of thermal insulating clay unit masonry (RC 3)
In 2017 the Austrian Clay Masonry Industry carried out a test of burglary resistance according to ÖNORM EN 1627 for the first time. A window was fixed in a highly insulated clay masonry wall (with declared compressive strength of the clay units 7.5 N/mm 2 ). Resistance class RC 3 was verified for the window, the fixing to the wall and the wall itself. Erstmalig hat die österreichische Ziegelindustrie 2017 eine Prüfung der Einbruchhemmung nach ÖNORM EN 1627 durchführen lassen. Ein Fenster wurde in eine wärmedämmende Ziegel‐Außenwand (mit einer deklarierten Steindruckfestigkeit von 7,5 N/mm 2 ) eingebaut. Die Widerstandsklasse RC 3 konnte für das Fenster, die Verbindung Fenster – Wand und die Wand selber nachgewiesen werden.
