Conclusion From the comparison of the theoretical and experimental graphs, it can be concluded that the proposed model describes the dynamics of the swelling process very well. This permits the magnitude of the displacements of a swelling soil to be predicted, and to establish on a well-founded basis the measures which will ensure normal operation of structure on such soils.
