Analysis of piles subjected to the action of horizontal and moment loads
Conclusions In this approximate method of analysis, the problem is reduced to four linear algebraic equations of canonical form. Analytical equations for triangular and trapezoidal diagrams of variation of the modulus of reaction are presented. The coefficients for the unknown are found by applying simple formulas. This method is straightforward and is based on the application of the usual methods of structural mechanics and strength of materials. The results of the analysis agree with those obtained from more rigorous solutions. This method permits using any other diagrams of variation of the modulus of subgrade reaction.
