Post-accident inspection of the foundation of a horizontal compressor
Abstract Results of an instrument inspection of the cracked foundation of a horizontal compressor are presented. An inspection procedure, which makes it possible to ascertain not only the pattern of visible-crack opening, but also detect hidden cracks, and assess the remaining service life of reinforced-concrete foundations, is developed. It is established that the level of vibrations and cracking of the foundation do not satisfy requirements of regulatory documents, and the remaining life of the foundation is essentially exhausted.
